I DARE YOU TO LOVE ME
10/04/25 - 13/04/25, French Street, Glasgow
An invitation—or a dare of sorts—to love, lust, and long for the side of a lorry.
I DARE YOU TO LOVE ME (French Street, 2025) is the second edition in the collaborative series produced by curator Aliya Prichard-Casey and artist Lilian Evans. The exhibition comprises Evans’ site-specific installations created from discarded lorry curtain and industrial debris, a series of confessional written works, and a fanatic video montage.
Revolving around her methodology of desire, Evans’ practice sits in the space between wanting and possessing as she seeks to express her obsessive desire for the side of a lorry. Her works, constructed with intuition, compulsion, and lust, are in essence, desire made manifest.
Transformed from objects of abandonment into objects of value, and art that can be desired, this exhibition highlights art’s capacity to transform and reshape perspectives.
Touching on our human tendency to consume and discard, it finds a place for these objects in our hearts.
And so, from confession to challenge,
we dare you to love it.
